Failure to Listen
“Hey mom, just to remind you I’m leaving for Korea and China sometime this week.”
“…………………..WHAT????? WHY?”
So as some of you may know, I’ve been planning a trip to visit a couple friends in Korea and stuff for weeks now. I’ve got it all planned out, paid a lot of money for the visas required, and set aside a portion of my money to pay for the trip. I’ve repeatedly told my mom I was planning this trip since last month.
Well, turns out, she pretty much ignored everything I said. And this causes some problems.
I have nobody to pick me up from the airport and I have no place to stay. I also have no money for a week-long stay at a hotel. I already have plane tickets reserved for specific dates, and at this moment, it’s nearly impossible to change them. So either I don’t go, or I take a chance and risk end up getting stuck in a foreign country for weeks on end.
Sometimes I think my mom is really out to foil any and all plans I have in life.
